Le whisky est une eau-de-vie fabriquée par distillation de céréales maltées ou non maltées. Il existe différents types de whiskys comme le single malt, le blended malt et autre. En Écosse, 5 grandes régions produisent le whisky (Islay, Lowlands, Highlands, Speyside, Campbeltown…) selon celles-ci il sera plus ou moins tourbé, fruité, salé,… Son vieillissement doit être de minimum trois ans en barriques pour porter l’appellation whisky.
